This material has excellent wear resistance and high-temperature red hardness. It resists thermal cracking, roller marks, and roller spots. It maintains uniform wear and strong roller shape retention, ensuring plate shape stability. Advanced heat treatment technology makes the material uniform with fine grains. The roll body hardness uniformity is ≤3HSD, and the working layer hardness drop is ≤3HSD. The material has high tensile strength (≥800MPa) and impact resistance. It resists thermal cracking and prevents oxide layer shedding and working layer peeling. The working roll offers good wear resistance and fatigue resistance. The grinding amount per roll is very small. Each grinding cycle lasts over 12 hours, and the total steel passing is more than 3 times that of high chromium cast iron rolls. High-speed steel working rolls reduce roll consumption per ton of steel. They improve surface finish, reduce heat and electricity consumption, and enhance the operating and yield rates. They also reduce labor intensity, spare rolls inventory, and capital occupation for hot-rolled strip steel producers.

Based on these advantages, this material is well-suited for the work rolls of four-high roughing and finishing mills in hot strip steel production, including endless rolling.

The roll body hardness of the working rolls in the roughing mill is 82-86HSD. The roll body hardness of the working rolls in the finishing mill is 84-88HSD.
