Cemented carbide roll rings, also known as tungsten carbide (TC) roll rings, are engineered to deliver exceptional performance in demanding rolling mill applications. The ideal choice for high-speed production of wire rod, bar, and deformed steel bar. Our rolls offer a unique combination of properties to ensure: longevity, reliability, and efficiency.

Key Advantages of Our Cemented Carbide Roll Rings
- Exceptional Hardness & Wear Resistance: With a normal hardness of HRA 78-89, our rolls significantly outperform high-speed steel. Crucially, they maintain this superior hardness even at elevated temperatures up to 600°C, minimizing wear and extending service life.
- Outstanding Mechanical Strength: Designed to withstand extreme operational stresses, our rolls boast a high compressive strength of up to 6000 MN/m² and a high modulus of elasticity.
- Superior Thermal Management: Excellent thermal conductivity helps dissipate heat quickly, while remarkable heat, corrosion, and oxidation resistance ensure consistent performance and reduce thermal fatigue.
- High Density & Robustness: The high-density structure contributes to the overall durability and resistance to impact.
Two Advanced Material Grades for Optimal Performance:
We offer two specialized grades to meet the specific demands of different stands in a finishing mill train, which typically consists of 8-10 stands.
- WC-Co (Tungsten Carbide Cobalt): Delivers an outstanding balance of hardness and toughness.
- WC-Co-Ni-Cr (Tungsten Carbide Cobalt Nickel Chromium): Provides enhanced corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.
In our composite material, the tungsten carbide (WC) grains provide the extreme hardness and wear resistance. The binding agent (Co-Ni-Cr) delivers the toughness and strength, resulting in excellent comprehensive mechanical properties with a bending strength up to 2200 MPa and high impact toughness.
Selecting the Right Grade for Your Mill:
- Front Stands (Heavy Duty & High Impact): The initial stands experience heavy loads and severe impact due to the larger cross-section of the rolled product. For these stands, high hardness and superior thermal fatigue resistance are the primary requirements, taking precedence over pure wear resistance.
- Rear Stands (Precision & Finishing): The latter stands encounter lower loads but require precise dimensional control and superior surface finish. Here, excellent wear resistance and thermal fatigue resistance are the most critical factors.
Why Choose Our Tungsten Carbide Roll Rings?
Our cemented carbide roll rings are specifically designed to address the common causes of failure in rolling mills, such as surface fracture and excessive wear. By offering superior heat resistance, strength, and tailored mechanical properties, they maximize operational uptime and productivity.
