Shenyang Steel Rolling Mill accelerated its technological development, and its products not only sold well throughout China but were also exported to countries and regions such as Iran, Romania, and Hong Kong. Among them, its hot-rolled 10-18mm round steel was rated as a high-quality product by the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry and Liaoning Province in 1985. Its 16mm square steel products ranked first in the national industry, becoming the special steel for railway spikes and winning the National Silver Award. The Ministry of Metallurgical Industry’s evaluation team determined that the quality of its hot-rolled 16mm square steel exceeded the standards of similar Japanese products.
